Who invented the genetic engineering?

If you're wondering who invented genetic engineering, don't be surprised to hear that this controversial area has begun there way long early 1900s by the work of the Austrian monk and scientist named Gregor Mendel. What his work led to was the establishment of genetics as a scientific study area. Since then, many other scientists followed through and made the discoveries.

In 1944, Oswald Avery Colin McLeod and Maclyn McCarty concluded that genetic information may be found in DNA. Since then, the integer scientists began to study DNA and its properties. In 1953, Watson and Crick made a breakthrough when they decoded the DNA structure. It is an important finding because understanding structure allowed for specific DNA modifications.

And then, in the 1960s, Ian Wilmut had begun to develop ways to clone animals from mammalian cells. Restriction enzyme was discovered later in 1968 by microbiologist Switzerland Werner Arber, followed by type II restriction enzyme found in 1969 by American biologist Hamilton Smith.

More research in genetic engineering took place in the 1970s, which put emphasis on bacteria and microorganisms. There, gene isolation and weathering techniques have been developed, allowing scientists to draw a gene from a plant to another. It also found that this could be done with animals, which would create changes to inheritance.

In 1973, a process of cutting DNA and endearing other DNA was developed by Herbert Boyer and Stanley Cohen, which allowed them to make the bacteria reproduce. This was used in the production of insulin. In this decade, scientists were also attempting to slice of genes from other organisms to higher forms. The first of these was the insertion of growth hormone in a mouse in which made the mouse grow twice its size. In 1986, a genetically modified virus was sold to the vaccine. In 1987, a conclusion was made replacement of genes from one organism to another present no danger to the environment.

In the history of genetic engineering is full of controversy and debate. While we will never know how the future is influenced by the possibilities, it is quite remarkable. Things would be different if there is one who invented the genetic engineering.
